College Students hit the right note!

Music students from Kidderminster College have been chosen to perform at the prestigious Association of Colleges annual conference on Wednesday 16th November, where they will be showcasing their talent and celebrating the success of Kidderminster College’s music department

The performance will be an acoustic rendition of ‘Mushaboom’, originally by the artist Feist and is performed by the students from the level 4 ‘Amplify’course.  The course, which is designed to help artists and musicians break into the music business is certainly paying dividends for the hardworking students: already Hettie Bunker (lead vocal) is busy working with the songwriting team behind Duffy, Lauren Wright (backing vocals) has been working with the producers behind Taylor Swift for her debut single, Dave Mason (percussion) has been sessioning for Mr Hudson and Sunjay Brayne (guitar) has been shortlisted for the prestigious Radio 2 Folk Musician of the Year Awards in addition to releasing his debut album.

The event, which is an amazing opportunity for the students to demonstrate their skills, will attract over 1,500 delegates from the college and Further Education sector.  The Gala Dinner performance will be the social event of the conference and we are sure that the performance by the students will be an amazing demonstration of the talent at Kidderminster College!

Andy Dobson, Principal of Kidderminster College said “The AoC conference is the biggest event of the year for colleges and it’s a real privilege to have been chosen.  I will be there and I’m really excited about hearing these brilliant musicians show everyone just how talented Kidderminster College’s students are.”
