Designed for bands, musicians, composers and producers seeking to further develop professionally in the context of today's music market.

What is the course about?

The main focus of the course is on artist and repertoire development. You will be encouraged to explore yourself as an artist, evolving your music, your image and your brand.

Entry requirements?

You must be aged 16 or over for this Level 4 course. You will either have completed a Level 3 course, or you will have to demonstrate suitable artist-related skills. 

You will also be invited to attend an interview/audition.

How is the course delivered?

The course is delivered at Kidderminster College. You will have full access to recording studios and rehearsal rooms, plus many other facilities. You will work on projects which lead to positive, practical outcomes. Delivery is centred on music-making sessions in technical suites, studios and venues.

What will I do on the course?

• Undergo an intensive A&R development process, similar to the process offered by record or management companies.
• Explore yourself as an artist and brand.
• Develop your artistic and musical expression and creativity.
• Learn how to contextualise yourself and your music.
• Chance for students exchange with colleges in America.
• Link with valuable industry contacts. Including labels and managers.
• Develop your repertoire for recording and performance.
• Develop presentation, performance and showcasing skills.
• Perform at professional venues and local and national gigs.
• Get the opportunity to record and release your music
• Produce video, photos and other professional level promo material.
• Develop your own professional level web presence.
• Develop yourself as a brand and get your name out there.

What qualification will I gain?

RSL Level 4 Diploma for Creative Music Practitioners.
